Tryouts & Eligibility
Are there tryouts?
No, there are no tryouts. Any girl who wants to play can join the team as long as she is committed to attending practices and games.
Can beginners join?
Yes! All skill levels are welcome.
Who is eligible to join the team?
Any girl enrolled in high school (public, private, or homeschooled) in North Alabama is eligible.
Girls in middle school are eligible as well but require approval of the Jets Girls Lacrosse Head Coach to ensure their safety when playing up.
Registration
How do I register to play?
Registration is done online. See the Fall Ball or Spring Season pages for registration details for the respective program.
What is included in the registration fee.
The fee covers league fees, coaching salaries, referees, athletic trainers, field/facility usage fees, team equipment (balls, goals, etc.).
Player equipment (sticks, goggles, mouth guards, etc.) are not included.
Why is a USA Lacrosse membership required?
A current USA Lacrosse membership provides insurance coverage to players when participating in organized lacrosse activities including clinics, practices, and games.
Do you offer fundraising opportunities?
Yes, there will be multiple fundraising opportunities throughout the year to help offset player fees and team expenses.
Do you offer financial assistance?
Yes, payment plans and financial assistance are available. Please contact a coach or board member discreetly for details.
Equipment
What equipment is required?
Each player needs:
- a girls’ lacrosse stick,
- for a list of approved sticks, see: https://www.usalacrosse.com/legal-womens-sticks
- protective goggles (SEI certified / meets ASTM F3077),
- a mouth guard (any color except clear or white),
- and cleats.
